Every day there is more information about what the future might look like, and how people should behave and thats why we have got to keep sharing that positivity around us & now more than ever we want people to stay in and relax.
At the best of times, staying away from loved ones, friends and colleagues would be a challenge. That’s why we’ve come up with some ideas to keep the mind & body active and well, and hopefully to keep that anxiety and restlessness at bay.
Rather than letting the isolation scare you why not try and embrace it as an opportunity to get your sweat on with some at-home workouts!
Whether that’s yoga in the living room, running up the stairs or having ago at weighted arm exercises with tins from your cupboard, there are plenty of options to keep moving when you can’t get outside.
Don’t forget, as it currently stands, we’re allowed 1 form of exercise a day. So go for a walk, take some deep breaths and take this opportunity to really take in your surroundings.
Studies show that breathing exercises can actually improve cognitive function, encourage positive thought processes, and reduce symptoms of anxiety.
Feeling anxious or stressed during challenging times is normal, and it’s ok to not be ok.
Now more than ever we want people to stay home, to keep calm and to run a hot bath. Sometimes something as simple as a hot bath can be a glorious act of self-care to help you unwind.
The perfect bathing temperature for a healthy adult should be slightly warmer than body temperature, which is 37°C.
Use Mother Nature’s secret weapon to help alter or heighten your mood, all of our Bath Bombs are jam packed full of them!
If your bathroom doesn’t have a lot of natural light, try going by Candle light to improve your sense of wellbeing and help get a good night’s sleep.
It may be tempting to set up Netflix while your bathing, instead enjoy the silence or try relaxing soundtracks to help focus your mind on the present.
You can also take a moment to write down what you are grateful for each day. Download & share this image to help promote a positive mindset.
We need to stay connected, despite social distancing and self-isolation.
Keep in touch with family and friends with video calls, if you want to get a whole group together why not try something like WhatsApp, Skype, Zoom or Google Hangouts.
Remember, our DM’s are always open! Or pop a message in the comments below - either way, we’ve got you.
Be entertained or learn something new!
When was the last time you dedicated your time to reading a book? Yeah, mine was the Twilight series too.
There is also podcasts and that Netflix series you were told was worth a watch and you said “I’ll add that to my list” but never got round to it. Now might be a good time to see if your friends were right!
There is also a new feature - NETFLIX PARTY! You can now watch films online at the same time as your friends or family and type messages on the screen. So it’s like your bestie is sat right next to you, but now you don’t have to put up with their loud popcorn munching! Bravo Netflix!
Perhaps there is something you've always wanted to learn, like sign language? You and the people you live with could all do this together! Try going an hour without speaking and using sign language instead!
Have you always wanted to start your own blog? Well we couldn’t think of a better time to really focus on writing posts. If this is something you do try, then please send us the link! We’d love to have a lil old read.
It’s also a great time to channel your inner star baker and get creative with food! Have a dig round those cupboards and start using items you’ve been putting off for a while!
I hope these ideas help! Please stay in touch and stay safe. We’re all in this together xx
